What Is Quartz?

Quartz is an engineered stone that has become a very popular choice for many homeowners. Here are some of the properties that explain why it is so perfect for countertops.

  • Durability: Quartz is a very hard mineral making it resistant to scratches, chips and dents
  • Non-Porous Nature: Quarts does not absorb liquids soare very resistant to stains. It also inhibits the growth of bacteria so is a more hygienic choice.
  • Variety of Colors and Patterns:  Manufacturers can mimic the appearance of natural stone such as Marble or granite  beautifully.
  • Low Maintenance: Quartz countertops are easy to clean and maintain. Mild soap and water can take care of most stains easily. Additionally, Sealing is not required, unlike some natural stones.
  • Appearance:  Quartz, being an engineered stone, has a consistent appearance throughout the slab, which may simplify homeowner concerns over the less predictable look of natural stone.
  • Resistance to Heat: Quartz is more resistant to heat than materials like laminate or solid surface countertops though direct exposure to high heat should still be avoided to prevent potential damage.
  • Ease of Installation:  Quartz countertops are typically fabricated to fit specific dimensions, making them easier to install compared to natural stones.
